A photographic record of the construction of a Live Steam BR53

(1’C)’D h4 [2-6-8-0] “Kriegslok II” locomotive. In 1944 the prototype BR53

was built to the rolling chassis stage before the project was canned by the

then German hierarchy. My loco is based on info obtained from Märklin

and their excellent H0 model #3302,which was itself based on data provided

by Mr Karl-Heinz Golze, an Engineer with Borsig Hennigsdorf at the time.

 

(The Kriegslok will be to a scale of 1:8 to run on 7¼" Gauge)
