Live Steam
Locos
Welcome to
Russell’s home page.
And many thanks to Gerhard
Bolz, Hannes Sommer and Adolph Trisko
for
their encouragement and good advice.
A photographic record of the construction of a Live Steam BR53
(1’C)’D h4
[2-6-8-0] “Kriegslok II” locomotive. In 1944 the prototype BR53
was built to the
rolling chassis stage before the project was canned by the
then German
hierarchy. My loco is based on info obtained from Märklin
and their excellent
H0 model #3302,which was itself based on data provided
by Mr Karl-Heinz Golze, an Engineer with Borsig Hennigsdorf at the time.
(The
Kriegslok will be to a scale of 1:8 to run on 7¼" Gauge)
